Why am I getting interviews but no offers?
Getting interviews means your CV works and employers believe you could do the job. Not converting them is a different problem, and usually a narrower one.

The most common cause: general answers
Interviewers are choosing between people who can all plausibly do the job. Specific, verifiable examples are what separates candidates — not enthusiasm or fit language.
Build six stories
- A problem you solved that saved time or money
- A time you handled a difficult person or customer
- Something you improved without being asked
- A failure and what you changed afterwards
- A time you delivered under pressure
- Something you learned quickly and then used
Other causes worth checking
- Salary expectations mismatched with the role's band
- Answers that explain what you escaped rather than what you're moving towards
- No questions prepared about the actual work
- A strong internal candidate — which you cannot see or control
Common questions
- How many interviews before I should worry?
- Three or four without progressing is worth reviewing. One or two is normal variance.
- Should I lower my salary expectations?
- Only if the evidence says you're consistently above the band. Guessing downwards costs real money.
